Shot by Johnathan Mannion, the cover features Khaled alongside his son Asahd in matching outfits, standing on the Holy Mountain. “May We Begin! #FATHEROFASAD MAY 17!” he captioned his post. Thus far, Khaled hasn’t revealed much about his album in terms of collaborations. On Tuesday, Cardi B teased her feature with Khaled on Twitter, noting that their release would come on Friday. In addition to Cardi, the late Nipsey Hussle who shot a video with Khaled before his untimely death in March — is also slated to appear on Father of Asahd.
Here’s everything you need to know about ‘Father of Asahd’ – including release date, tracklist details and collabs. DJ Khaled’s new album has been teased for some months now, but the wait is almost over.
‘Father of Asahd’ is dropping on Friday 17th May, 2019.
What’s the DJ Khaled documentary about?
As well as releasing new tracks, DJ Khaled has shot an accompanying documentary, which will be available exclusively on TIDAL just before the album drops. The documentary, entitled Father of Asahd: The Album Experience grants viewers a behind-the-scenes look of the artist at work. There’s also footage of Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Big Sean, Gunna, SZA and more.
TIDAL members also have the chance to meet Khaled himself in New York, as he celebrates the album release in the Big Apple.
After the album release, fans can also watch an exclusive interview on TIDAL with DJ Khaled and Elliot Wilson, in an episode of CRWN. DJ Khaled’s documentary Father Of Asahd: The Album Experience won’t be debuting on Friday (May 17) as originally planned. The film’s release has been pushed back to May 21, but the LP is still scheduled to drop on Friday.
Father Of Asahd: The Album Experience will now premiere on the same day as Khaled and Elliott Wilson’s #CRWN interview, which is taking place at New York’s historic Apollo Theater.
“Fan luv turned out big for this one and we had to step it up and take over the LEGENDARY Apollo Theater,” Khaled said in a press release. “The most iconic stage is necessary for this iconic moment. I worked so hard on this project and I cannot wait for everyone to see. This is going to be BIG.”
DJ Khaled is teaming up with TIDAL to provide fans with lots of content for his next album release. To coincide the LP, the Snapchat King will drop a documentary titled Father Of Asahd: The Album Experience this Friday (May 17) via the streaming service.
Ahead of the film’s arrival, Khaled and TIDAL have shared a trailer that doesn’t require a subscription to watch. The preview of the upcoming documentary features cameos by JAY-Z, Meek Mill, SZA and more. In addition to the album and documentary, Khaled will be participating in a #CRWN interview with Rap Radar’s Elliott Wilson. The discussion is scheduled to take place in New York City on May 21. DJ Khaled’s Father Of Asahd has been in the works for what feels like the gestation period of an actual child. Yet today, the affable mogul has officially unveiled a specific release date for his upcoming album: May 17th. While we have yet to receive an official single, Khaled has essentially lined up the entirety of April to dictate his rollout as he so chooses. And while the features have yet to be revealed, expect plenty of prominent names to roll through, given the expansive reach of his connections.
We’ve already seen Khaled label the album his “best one yet,” which speaks to a more focused approach from the DJ. A while back, he released a trailer indicating his current mindset: “Anyone act up, I’ll let it all go. I want to fu*k the game up!” Though we’ve all seen him slip into hyperbole, the idea that Khaled is putting his son’s name on this one suggests an inherent sense of importance. Expect plenty of A-list collaborations, a few radio bangers, and plenty of joie-de-vivre.
With Father Of Asahd around the corner, DJ Khaled has already begun hitting the live circuit. Sadly, the death of Nipsey Hussle continues to loom heavy over the game at large. The beloved mogul is no exception. A business partner and collaborator of Nipsey, DJ Khaled recently placed a bid with the late rapper, in an attempt to acquire the Viceroy hotel in Santa Monica. Clearly, the pair were in the process of making some money moves as a unit, and it’s likely they developed a cordial relationship throughout their dealings.
It’s no surprise that Khaled has been paying homage accordingly. During a recent show, the DJ took it back to his roots, bringing a tried and true chant back into the forefront. “When I say Nipsey, you say Hussle,” he leads, as the crowd follows suit. After the chant reaches an apex, Khaled cues up “Last Time That I Chec’dd,” one of Victory Lap’s many bangers.
It’s nice to see DJ Khaled holding it down, and once again, we’re reminded of Nipsey Hussle’s impact on the game. Check out the footage below, and keep an eye out for Father Of Asahd, dropping on May 17th.
DJ Khaled is poised for a massive May. The mogul has already revealed that his Grateful follow-up, Father Of Asahd, is set to arrive on May 17th. With features from 21 Savage, SZA, Meek Mill, and more on tap, Khaled has consistently been promising his biggest release thus far. Given his grandiose nature, such a proclamation is indeed saying a lot. Download DJ Khaled – Father of Asahd mp3 download in 320kpbs Itunes plus full tracks. DOWNLOAD ALBUM: DJ Khaled – Father of Asahd (ZIP MP3) In any case, it’s likely the project will kick off a whirlwind schedule, beginning with an appearance as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
one day after his new album drops, Khaled is set to hold it down for the SNL finale. Joining host Paul Rudd, who himself will be basking in the sweet afterglow of Endgame’s copious shattered records, Khaled will likely perform one of his eventual singles – none of which have been released at the time of this writing. In any case, expect the signature shuffle to set the stage ablaze.
DJ Khaled’s anticipated 2019 Days Of Summer Cruise Fest has been in the works for some time now since Post Malone and Cardi B were the first headliners announced back in February. Now just two months later (as the weather has made itself cruise ready) the full list of acts set to jump on board has been announced and it’s enough to make you cancel any plans between June 28th and July 1st, to grab a ticket and join the ride.
City Girls, DaBaby, Soulja Boy, Def Loaf, Lil Nas X, Pardison Fontaine, Murda Beatz, Kent Jones, Tay Money and Tyla Yaweh will all be joining DJ Khaled, Post Maone and of course Cardi B for one of the biggest boat parties the open sea has ever seen.
Even more, Waka Flocka, Flipp Dinero and special guests will be performing the beach of Half Moon Cay for guests to enjoy the musical selection with their feet planted on the ground.
The cruise will pick up all attendees in Miami, head to the Bahamas and head right back. Head to the official site to book your cruise or to simply get more information. DJ Khaled is looking to May with the temperament of an eager beaver. Download DJ Khaled – Father of Asahd mp3 download in 320kpbs Itunes plus full tracks. DOWNLOAD ALBUM: DJ Khaled – Father of Asahd (ZIP MP3) The minute the clock turns midnight, expect DJ Khaled to ring in his album month with an onslaught of promotion. With Father Of Asahd set to arrive on May 17th, the mogul has already begun to pop up with increased frequency, this time securing himself a cover spot on GQ Middle East. Living up to his album title, Khaled made sure to keep the shoot a father-son affair, once again cementing Asahd in the public eye. How many other infants have lined GQ? Could this be a historical first?
Earlier today DJ Khaled shared a text image on his Instagram page, writing that everyone involved in the production of “Higher” has agreed to forgo their profits in order to donate all money made from the single to Nipsey’s two children. DOWNLOAD ALBUM: DJ Khaled – Father of Asahd (ZIP MP3) “Recently, I embarked on a soul-searching journey down a road I never thought I would travel in a million years,” Khaled wrote. “It began when a tragedy robbed the world of an enlightened soul, a brother, a father, a partner and my friend, Nipsey Hussle. Just days prior, he shared his energy and positivity with me on a video set for a song called ‘Higher.’ After much prayer and reflection; and with the full blessing of the Asghedom family, I am sharing that moment with the world.”
As you would likely expect, the album cover shows a photo of DJ Khaled and his son, Asahd, bonding together in matching outfits. There’s a jungle theme apparent as well, meaning this will likely flow well into the summer. Whenever Khaled releases new music, you know there’s a high chance it will be received well in the warmer months, getting plenty of play on pop radio. We’re anticipating Father Of Asahd to be much like his previous efforts but considering there is no official single yet, the intrigue is absolutely intact.
Khaled took to Instagram to showcase the tropical design, which features a pair of friendly island birds congregating around the album’s title. Should you be eager to declare your loyalty to Asahd and all he represents, be sure to cop accordingly. Those who buy Khaled’s merch will also be treated to a copy of his upcoming album, which looks to feature Cardi B, 21 Savage, Meek Mill, and many more.
Have you any interest in buying Father Of Asahd merchandise? Keep an eye out for those new designs as they surface. Khaled is most definitely a man of his word.
To be fair, we already know that Khaled is the father of Asahd, so we’ll feign surprise if that’s what he’s seeking. In any case, Khaled has also used the opportunity to share some new merchandise, which finds him proudly on his “tropical vibe.” “Greetings from the father of Asahd,” says Khaled, who for all intents and purposes has all-but forsworn his given name in favor of the new title. “Every three days Im’a hit you with some new merch, he promises.”
