We are heading to the golden sands again! This time Let’s Drive re-traces the best sections of this year’s Gulf News Fun Drive around the Hameem/ Al Hamra/ Asab/ Liwa area.

We’ll leave Dubai in the evening of Thursday and have dinner on the way to our camping spot near Al Fathiya (225 km from Dubai World Trade Center). After a refreshing night’s sleep, we’ll set the wheels rolling over the silky dunes on Friday morning. The desert track is about 160 km long and the terrain varies from undulating flats to breathtaking falls, so come equipped with a high-clearance 4x4 car, proper gear and good desert driving skills.

During the trail, the convoy will make several pit-stops for food & drinks,  photo-ops and ‘play-around-in-the-sandy-ground’. The drive will end at the designated point and we will head home in the evening (return trip: 320 km)

Important Notes:
1- Only 4x4 cars with high ground clearance and fully equipped with front and back tow hooks, radio, deflator/ compressor, recovery belt and proper gear are allowed.
2- You should be at least an intermediate/ moderate level desert driver to be considered for this drive.
3- RSVP only if you can attend. Withdrawal after RSVP closure will amount to ‘No Show’.
4- All RSVP’s will be routed to the Waitlist, and the Organizers will make the final selection of attendees based on the driver and car profile.
5- No "open passengers list" for this drive. Drivers may bring their own guests.
6- If you wish to ride with someone, ask them first, then RSVP by including the driver’s name (or else you will be on the Wait-list forever).
7- There is no barbecue on this trip; make your own arrangements for food and drinks.
8- Meeting points/ details will be shared with the confirmed attendees on our trip WhatsApp group.

What to Bring:
1- Enough food/ snacks and water/ drinks for the duration of the drive.
2- Radio, deflator, air compressor, recovery belt/ tow rope, tent, chair & camping gear, LED light/ torch, warm clothing/ sleeping bag (very important)
3- It is a L-O-N-G desert track, so if your car does not have a Godzilla-size fuel tank, please bring a jerry can. Either fill-up in advance or at the ADNOC station near the starting point.
4- Fire wood (at least 1 bundle per car)
5- Shisha
6- Sun protection / any medication you need.
7- The Bedouin spirit 

* Always remember; Take Pictures and Happy Memories, Leave Footprints! (We take all our garbage back, always leave nature as you found it… or better!)
